Each year, the Musical Fund Society hosts two receptions which bring together the amazing artists, exceptional presenting organizations and dedicated music lovers who make up Philadelphia’s vibrant musical community.

2023 Winter Reception

This year’s Winter Reception sets the stage for an exciting performance by the internationally renowned duo Kuwento Mizik, featuring baritone Jean-Bernard Cerin, winner of the 2022 Musical Fund Society Career Advancement Award, and pianist Veena Kulkarni-Rankin. 

Presented by the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Kuwento Mizik fuses classical and world music with storytelling in a transformative concert experience – join us for light snacks before a program that encompasses European and American art songs, Brazilian and Haitian folk music, and Indian and Persian love songs.

Each spring, we present a festive evening of food, wine and fun with friends as we announce the winners of two major awards given by the Musical Fund Society: the Career Advancement Award, for an emerging young performing artist of exceptional talent and promise, and the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes an individual whose work represents a significant contribution to the rich cultural life and vibrant musical community in the city of Philadelphia.
